Government employees.....they are out to get us! lol

Ok, so I was telling my family about the whole drivers lisence story and my brother jokingly reminded me of another government employee story. This last fall my little family went up to Liberty to spend the weekend with our in-laws, they have a get-a-way house up there. We had a great weekend, we hung-out and helped them take out a bunch of bushes in the yard there. We packed our trailer and truck full of stuff to go to the dump. So we are coming back from Liberty and headed to the dump....the dump closes at 6. We got there about 5:45 pm. B and Z start unloading, I stayed in the truck with the girls. S had burnt her finger on a lamp earlier in the day and had been crying all afternoon, I felt so bad for her. She kept falling asleep, and unless I kept the ice on her finger she would wake up again, it was a hard day. Anyway, the girls and I are in the truck and we see one of the dump workers drive around and up to the gate. He drives right past us and looks at us. After a few minutes I decided I needed to help B unload so we could get done faster. So I start helping and the worker drives by again. I was kind of hoping he would offer to help but he didn't. So a few minutes later we see the worker leave. B and I finish unloading a few minutes later, we get in the truck and we start heading out, now mind you its 6:15. We drive up to the gate and its CLOSED! WITH A LOCK ON IT! I get out and see if they just put the lock on but didn't lock it, I mean its not like they didn't see us or know we were there! But NO it is locked and we are INSIDE! B and I can't believe it! So we drive around the dump looking for any sign of employee that can let us out. Now not only are we locked in the dump but its a long weekend.....so we could be here until tuesday! The kids are kind of scared and we kind of try to laugh and call it an adventure. Z has to pee, well they locked us in! So what are we going to do?? What would you do? We let the poor kid pee at the dump of course! We drive all around the dump......B thinks there may be another entrance for the city trucks.....but sadly no, we can tell you there is only one way in and the same way out of the dump. So after driving around we decide to call the police department, non-emergency of course. The police can't believe they locked us in. In the mean time B calls his brother (that we were helping in Liberty) and tells him the situation, he offers to come down and we can lift the kids over the gate, we decline. B wants to break out his saws-all and break the lock, as much as I like this idea (after all, they locked us in!) I think that is a bad idea, I don't need my husband locked up in jail for breaking a city lock. So after a half hour wait finally a police shows up and unlocks the gate. The officer was cool about it, he was as shocked as we were. The thing is, yes they were closing, but you would think the worker would come and tell us either to leave and come back after the weekend, or help us or some kind of communication! But NO he just decided to lock us in! I seriously hope he gets locked in some kind of situation some day! So after all my recent government employee experiences, I think they are out to get us, so beware!! lol

Freakin idiot government employees! (Long Story)

Ok, so my drivers license expired on my last birthday (a few months ago), I know I know I should have renewed it sooner. Anyway.....you have up to six months before or after your birthday to renew, so its ok. So a few weeks ago I take all my papers and go to Farmington to renew. I have my social security card, my proof of residency, my birth certificate card (wallet-sized version of your birth certificate) and anything else I need. I go in the building and get the paperwork, I go fill it out and take it to the first desk. They say they CAN'T accept my birth certificate card, it HAS to be the original full document! I'm very frustrated......its not like I was born in a different country! So I take all my papers and head home......very irritated.....grumble grumble. To you ladies you understand that when you have to get an ID picture of some kind you spend extra time on your hair and makeup so you don't have to look at your crappy picture for the next few years. So not only did I have to bring all my papers and come back another day, I had to have a "good hair day" again another day! grumble grumble. So about a week later I have all my "acceptable" paper work and go up. My husband and son are with me because we are going to swing up to the Mall after and pick up an order waiting for me. I go into the building and go the first desk. I get my picture and my wait-in-line ticket. So I sit down (its going to be a while) and wait. After about 20-25 minutes they finally call my name. I go up and the cashier scans all my stuff and I am good to go. I go to scan my debit card to pay the fee.....and my card won't scan........we keep trying....like 20 times! Nothing. So the cashier asks me if I have another form of payment......I don't....crap. So she writes "EXPRESS" at the top of my paperwork and tells me to come back with a different form of payment, there is a problem with the magnetic on my card. She says to show the "EXPRESS" when I come back and they will put me at the front of the line, cuz all I have to do is pay. I am very frustrated.....again. So we go find an ATM and get the cash (stupid magnetic strip) and run up to the mall, grab my order and head back to Farmington. I go in and the front-desk guy is standing right by the front door and looks at my papers and tells me they won't have time for me today! WHAT?????? I show him the "EXPRESS", he says that their are a lot of people and they probably won't get to me! I am so irritated at this point I could have spit nails at him! So I go back out to the car, I tell my hubby what happened. We start driving away and he decides HE is going to go in with me and talk to the guy. So we turn around and go back in. The front-desk guy looks at me weird. He tells me the same thing "they probably won't get to me". My husband asks "whats the point of the 'EXPRESS'?". So after some highly irritating conversation my husband just asks for an "EXPRESS" ticket, and says we will try. So the guy gives us a ticket and as I am walking away he says "We will probably get to you" WHAT THE????? I am so ticked at this point, its not pretty. So I go sit down, I kid you not....1 minute later they call my number! I didn't know wether to laugh or shout! So we got everything finished up and left. I really really don't like government employees, I have encountered too many idiots or irritating ones, or worse, both irritating and idiotic! Its a good thing I don't have to renew for 5 years!
